TRICOR Systems Inc. Launches Dri-Scope Aid® Cabinet

Posted on April 24th, 2018 by Tom Allen

Dri-Scope Aid® Cabinet converts existing scope cabinets into a drying system.

Elgin, IL – TRICOR Systems Inc. designer and manufacturer of the Dri-Scope Aid® and Dri-Scope Aid® 2 is excited to announce the launch of the Dri-Scope Aid® Cabinet (DSAC) system. The DSAC converts existing scope cabinets into a drying system. Up to 16 endoscopes can be processed with a short cycle for between uses and a longer venting cycle for overnight storage. Assisting in the drying process by pumping HEPA-filtered air through the internal channels of endoscopes, the DSAC helps reduce the chances of biofilm development and microbial growth due to water born bacteria.

SGNA Standards of Infection Control in Reprocessing of Flexible Gastrointestinal Endoscopes states: “Drying the endoscope after every reprocessing cycle, both between patient procedures and before storage, is a requisite practice crucial to the prevention of bacterial transmission and nosocomial infections.” They go on to say, “Drying is as important to the prevention of disease transmission and nosocomial infection as cleaning and HLD (High Level Disinfection).”

“There has been a lot of increased interest placed on drying and storage of endoscopes over the past year, even though it has been recommended by every society and in all endoscope IFU’s for a long time. The need for extended time to the reprocessing cycle and space have made adoption difficult. Said George Cronin, National Sales Manager. “The Dri-Scope Aid® Cabinet removes the concern over space and helps to maintain a quick turn-around time.”

The Dri-Scope Aid® Cabinet also includes an easily identifiable visual display indicating the current status of the endoscope. The Dri-Scope Aid® Cabinet comes in a few different sizes allowing for up to 16 scopes depending on your current scope cabinets. Using the individual scope connectors, it will hook up to all major brands of endoscopes. The scope connectors help to alleviate concerns over cross contamination.

TRICOR-Systems Inc. is excited to announce the new Dri-Scope Aid® Cabinet. For more information on Dri-Scope Aid®, call 508-423-3223, e-mail

TRICOR-Systems Inc. Launches Dri-Scope Aid®2 with Dual Timer

Dri-Scope Aid®2 Assists in the Drying of the Internal Channels of an Endoscope.

Elgin, IL – SGNA Standards of Infection Control in Reprocessing of Flexible Gastrointestinal Endoscopes states: “Drying the endoscope after every reprocessing cycle, both between patient procedures and before storage, is a requisite practice crucial to the prevention of bacterial transmission and nosocomial infections.” “Drying is as important to the prevention of disease transmission and nosocomial infection as cleaning and HLD.”

A heightened awareness has been focused around the drying and storage of endoscopes in recent articles and societal meetings.  “Currently the options are extremely limited to aid in the drying of internal channels.  Budget constraints and space limitations has slowed the adoption of drying these internal channels.  The Dri-Scope Aid®2 is the answer to alleviating both of these restrictions,” said George Cronin, National Sales Manager.  “The Dri-Scope Aid®2 is the solution scope users have been searching for to easily push HEPA-filtered air through all internal channels of the scope.”

TRICOR-Systems Inc. is excited to announce the new Dri-Scope Aid®2 with dual timer. The dual timer will allow the operator to hook up two endoscopes (Olympus, Pentax, and Fuji) with independent start and stop times.  The individual timers will help with the flow and turnaround time in the reprocessing room.

The Dri-Scope Aid®2 unit features a daily disposable tubing assembly, individual scope connectors and is capable of processing two endoscopes at once. The scopes are simply attached to the daily tubing assembly via the connectors, the required time is set, and the start button pressed to initiate a continuous flow of HEPA-filtered air through the scope(s), freeing the technician for other duties.

Timing can be set between 1 and 99 minutes using the unit’s digital display and touch pad controls. The Dri-Scope Aid® unit is compact (8.2 inches tall by 6.1 inches wide and 6.5 inches deep), and weighs only 4.5 pounds. It is designed for countertop, wall mount or pole mount use.

For more information on Dri-Scope Aid®2, call 508-423-3223, e-mail sales@driscope.com and visit www.driscope.com.

Dri-Scope Aid® Automates the Drying of the Internal Channels of Endoscopes

Posted on August 16th, 2017 by Tom Allen

Elgin, IL – SGNA Standards of Infection Control in Reprocessing of Flexible Gastrointestinal Endoscopes states: “Drying the endoscope after every reprocessing cycle, both between patient procedures and before storage, is a requisite practice crucial to the prevention of bacterial transmission and nosocomial infections.” “Drying is as important to the prevention of disease transmission and nosocomial infection as cleaning and HLD.” The new Dri-Scope Aid® automates the procedure, freeing technicians for other duties, by delivering a constant flow of HEPA-filtered air through every internal channel of an endoscope. The filter has a 99.97% retention rate of particles that have a size of 0.3 μm or greater.

“We are excited to announce that after a successful soft introduction of The Dri-Scope Aid® the National rollout has started,” said George Cronin, National Sales Manager. “The heightened awareness around the potential hazards of bacterial growth driven by multiple societies has increased the responsiveness of many facilities across the country.”

The Dri-Scope Aid® unit features a daily disposable tubing assembly, individual scope connectors and is capable of processing two endoscopes at once. The scopes are simply attached to the tubing assembly via the connectors, the required time is set, and the start button pressed to initiate a continuous flow of HEPA-filtered air through the scope(s) internal channels.

Timing can be set between 1 and 99 minutes using the unit’s digital display and touch pad controls. Audible and visible alerts signal when the process is complete. Other alerts warn of low air flow during the procedure and when the HEPA filter needs changing. If a high-pressure event occurs during drying, the unit automatically shuts off.

The Dri-Scope Aid® unit is compact (8.2 inches tall by 6.1 inches wide and 6.5 inches deep), weighs only 4.5 pounds and is powered by a universal medical-grade power supply (100-240 V, 50-60 Hz). It is designed for countertop, wall mount or pole mount use. The Dri-Scope system components include the Dri-Scope Aid® unit, one filter assembly, a wall-mount bracket, a universal power supply and an optional pole-mount clamp.
